Associate Dean for the Gainesville Campus, Dr. Hutton joined Galen in March of 2022. She has practiced nursing in many different specialties including the cardiac intensive care unit, dialysis, cardiac catheterization lab, operating room, and post-anesthesia care unit.

Dr. Hutton graduated from Palm Beach Community College in 1985 with an ASN degree. She then obtained a BSN from the University of Florida, an MSN in Adult Health from University of North Carolina, and a DNP in Nursing Administration with a minor in Nursing Education from Samford University.

Dr. Hutton has developed many innovative learning simulations for nursing students including one of the first simulations for operating room nurses. She also co-authored the initial nurse practitioner case study for the interactive computerized nursing education product for Shadow Health, Inc. which is now used by nursing schools throughout the country. She also assisted with the development of a first of its kind clinical remediation program.

Dr. Hutton has taught nursing in PN, ADN, Bridge, and BSN programs. She has served in many leadership roles throughout her tenure and has mentored many students and faculty over the years. Her biggest joy comes from seeing her former students succeeding in their own careers!
