Dean for the Nashville Campus, Carla joined Galen in December 2021.  Prior to joining Galen Carla worked with HCA from 2015 to 2021 in various roles of education including, Division Vice President of Education, Market Director of Education, Resident Program Coordinator and Leadership and Development facilitator.  Her passion for education is portrayed as she seeks to provide mentoring in development of nurses and faculty. Under her leadership the priority of enhancing the nursing student facility clinical experiences was initiated. Carla spent four years in academia from 2011-2015 as faculty in ADN and BSN programs facilitating Peds, OB, Assessment and Community Health.

Carla finished her PhD in 2019 with a focus in the new hire experiences understanding the priority for new graduate preparedness for practice in critical care areas. Carla seeks to prepare nurses for practice and not only understand the knowledge of nursing care but the priority of compassion in nursing care.
